Live from the courtroom: Prosecutor Vince Imbordino got right to Dieteman’s confession to the killings of Claudia Gutierrez-Cruz and Robin Blasnek, who were both shot to death in the summer of 2006.
“Did you shoot and kill Claudia Gutierrez-Cruz?” Imbordino asked.
“Yes, sir,” Dieteman responded. “I did.”
“Were you present when Robin Blasnek was shot and killed?”
“Yes, sir.”
Dieteman testified that he played lookout in the passenger seat of the car while Hausner shot and killed Blasnek.
The details of these crimes will come later, and the jury will need to be convinced of his credibility. However, the quick moves served to get Dieteman’s stark admissions to the jury as quickly as possible.
